A Secondhand Bookshop With a Lot of Heart

Malaysia’s largest self-service preloved bookstore at Aeon Big Subang Jaya, and finding homes with readers across the country.

How It All Started: From a Simple Love of Books

Bookaholics Hub didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a belief — that great books deserve second lives, and that readers deserve better access to them.

Over 4 years ago, we opened as Bookaholics Anonymous, a small but passionate secondhand bookshop built on careful curation and genuine love for the written word. We built our reputation the old-fashioned way: one reader, one book, one good recommendation at a time.

Today, as Bookaholics Hub, we’ve grown into Malaysia’s largest self-service preloved bookstore — with over 20,000 titles under one roof in Subang Jaya, a searchable in-store catalogue online, and a WhatsApp community that keeps our regulars close to the shelves no matter where they are.

What We're About: More Than a Transaction

We’ve always believed a bookshop should be a place to linger, not just to buy. Our physical store at Aeon Big Subang Jaya is designed for exactly that — browse freely, take your time, and let a good cover stop you in your tracks.

Can’t make it in person? Our in-store catalogue is searchable online. Browse by title, author, or ISBN, and order for delivery if something catches your eye. You’ll also find us on Shopee and Carousell, with stock that moves fast and new arrivals coming in regularly.

And if you’re after something specific? Submit a Book Request and we’ll keep an eye out. No guarantees — but we love the hunt.

Our Values: What We Stand For

Curation, not just collection. We sort through a lot of books. The ones that make it to our shelves are there because we believe in them — titles that move you, challenge you, and stay with you long after the last page.

Accessibility. Preloved books mean good reads at prices that don’t sting. We think more people should have access to great stories, and keeping books affordable is one small way we try to make that happen.

Sustainability. Every book that finds a new home is one less book discarded. We’re proud to be part of a more circular, less wasteful relationship with the things we love.

Community, always. Great reads deserve great conversations. Join our WhatsApp community for new arrivals, flash sales, and the kind of bookish chat that makes you feel right at home.

As Seen In & Accolades

We are grateful that our passion for books has been recognised from very early days by wonderful publications.

We had an incredible conversation with BFM about the very soul of our business: the magic of secondhand books, the stories they hold beyond their pages, and our founding belief that a bookshop should be about more than just transactions.

Beyond Our Shelves

We partner with cafés, co-working spaces, and community venues to bring books into the places where people already gather. From curated reading nooks to pop-up bookshops and book swap corners, we love finding creative ways to put the right books in front of the right people.

For Readers & Book Lovers

Step inside, both online and at our physical store. Browse our shelves, join an event, make connections, donate your books for us to create more literary opportunities for the community. Let’s turn the chapters and pages together.

For Businesses & Community Partners

Our story continues outside our walls. We believe in the power of collaboration to foster literacy and build a stronger community through books.

We are actively seeking to partner with like-minded businesses, cafes, co-working spaces, and organisations. We provide the books, the literary expertise, and the passion. You provide the space and the audience.

Together, we can create:

Dedicated Reading Nooks & Mini-Libraries (like at The Great Cafe and The Story Book)

Curated Book Exchange Corners (like at Republik Damansara Heights)

Pop-up Bookshops and themed events

Sponsored literacy initiatives and reading programs

Let’s create something meaningful for our community.
