Bookaholics Hub: Short Stories – Submission Terms & Conditions

This Agreement is between you (“the Author”) and SecondChance 4All PLT (the “Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the legal entity operating the website and brand Bookaholics Hub.

By submitting your original short story, novella, chapter, or other literary work (the “Work”) to the Bookaholics Hub website (the “Site”) for consideration, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility
You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and that the Work is your original creation, does not infringe upon any third party’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, and has not been previously published in any medium (including personal blogs and websites).

2. Grant of License for Website and Digital Distribution
Upon acceptance of your Work for publication on the Site, you grant the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to:
Publish, display, reproduce, and distribute the Work on the BookaholicsHub.com website.

Publish, display, reproduce, and distribute the Work on the Company’s affiliated social media channels and email newsletters for promotional purposes.

Format, convert, and make minor edits to the Work for purposes of clarity, grammar, spelling, and standard copy-editing.

Convert, reproduce, and distribute the Work in additional digital formats, including but not limited to EPUB, PDF, MOBI, and other e-book formats, for free download by users from the Site.

Create, produce, and distribute an audiobook version of the Work, read by a narrator selected by the Company.

Distribute the audiobook version through any and all digital channels and mediums, including but not limited to streaming platforms (e.g., Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music), podcast platforms (e.g., Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts), and for direct download from the Site.

Users who download the Work in any format may use it for their personal, non-commercial use without restriction, including sideloading to e-reader devices and apps.

3. Author’s Ownership and Rights
You retain all copyright and ownership of the Work. This license is non-exclusive, meaning you are free to publish the Work elsewhere after it has been published on the Bookaholics Hub website.

4. Selection Process and Potential for Anthology
Submission does not guarantee publication on the Site. The Company’s selection decisions are final.

The Company may, at its discretion, consider published Works for inclusion in future digital or print anthologies (“Anthology”).

Selection for an Anthology is contingent upon the Author’s execution of a separate, specific Anthology Publication Agreement provided by the Company at the time of selection. This subsequent agreement will outline all terms, including scope of rights, distribution, and compensation.

The Author is under no obligation to grant anthology rights. The grant of website publication rights under this agreement does not constitute an agreement to grant anthology rights.

5. Author Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that:
a) You are the sole author and copyright holder of the Work.
b) The Work is not defamatory, obscene, unlawful, or in violation of any right of privacy or publicity.
c) You have the full power and authority to enter into this Agreement and grant the rights contained herein.

6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the publication or use of the Work.

7. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

By checking the box on the submission form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.
